    See how it works

    Spanish for missionaries, done differently

Speaking-first practice, every day, shaped around the conversations you'll actually have on your mission.

    Speaking from lesson one

Hold the microphone and talk. The AI talks back, corrects you, and keeps you in the conversation when you stall.

    Conversations shaped like the field

Practice the situations a missionary actually walks into: meeting someone new, dinner at a member's home, explaining something you believe, everyday errands in your area.

A tutor with patience you can't burn through

Stumble through the same sentence twenty times without anyone sighing. Won't switch to English on you. Tracks what you know and pulls you forward.

    Spaced repetition that actually retains

Vocabulary you've used in conversation comes back at intervals tuned to memory science. The words stick.

    Example practice scenarios

    • Striking up a conversation with a stranger

Introduce yourself, ask about their day, keep it going past the awkward beat. The core skill of every missionary day.

    • Dinner with a member family

Small talk with your hosts, compliment the food, answer questions about home, follow along when the conversation veers.

    • Explaining something you believe

Walk through an idea you care about and practice rephrasing when it doesn't land. Being understood by the people you'll teach starts here.

    • Daily life in your area

Buying groceries, riding the bus, asking directions, catching a phone number said at full speed.

Or tell the tutor where you've been called and who you expect to meet, and it builds the practice around that.

A head start goes a long way

The MTC's language training is good, and it's built to move you forward from wherever you start. Any real speaking practice you bring is a head start it can build on.

Our philosophy is that speaking is the practice, not the finish line. You don't study for months and then try talking; you talk from the first lesson, at whatever level you're at. Every conversation you have before you report is one that already feels familiar when it comes up again in your training or your first area.

Built for the window between your call and your report date

Whether you report in six weeks or six months, that window is a real chance to get comfortable speaking. FluentPath fits it wherever you are:

    • You just opened your mission call and report in a few months
    • You report to the MTC in a few weeks and want a running start
    • You're doing the at-home MTC portion before Provo
    • You're waiting on a visa with extra weeks at home
    • You're a parent helping a future missionary get ready
    • You've been called to a French- or Italian-speaking mission

Where you can be by the time you report

Roughly fifteen minutes a day between your call and your report date. A head start, not fluency.

    • Stay in a basic conversation for several minutes without freezing up.
    • Introduce yourself and explain why you're there, mostly in the language.
    • Catch the gist of what someone says back, even at full speed.
    • Recognize a few hundred of the most common words you'll hear every day.
    • Read a short passage out loud and be mostly understood.
    • Walk into the MTC with a running start.

No Elder or Sister shows up to the MTC fluent, including with us. The goal is to arrive with a real working floor, so your six weeks of language training build on something, and your first area feels like a challenge instead of a wall.
